I’m nearing the end of my 2nd week in Europe and since Paris, I’ve noticed these funny, slightly altered traffic signs in random places.
I first noticed it while walking around Montmarte in Paris.
A man stealing a “No Entry” sign.
I thought it was one of a kind, until I started noticing other signs with different designs in different neighborhoods around Paris.
Vitruvian Man in a “Tow-Away” Zone sign.
When I went to Rome, I saw the signs again, with even more designs to match the neighborhoods they were in.
Christ nailed to the cross on a major bus route to the Vatican in Rome.
An angel stealing a “No Entry” sign near the Vatican, in Rome.
I don’t know if the traffic sign art – if you can call it that – is done by one person or by a group of people, or if it is authorized by the government or not. I just like them because they add a little humor to what would otherwise be ordinary (and quite boring) traffic signs.
Thank you for sharing Clever signage. I liked your post from the second I saw your title. I have been looking for your type of wit for days. We should def be ‘bloggy’ friends. What are you up to in Europe?
Thanks for visiting and for commenting. I am just here on vacation…

I don’t know why it says that I deleted my account. Lies!
Hmm, so where do we draw the line between art and vandalism. The marriage of the two, is that called graffiti?
well, the local government don’t seem to mind so I guess it’s ok. Besides, it makes people look at the signs and hopefully follow…If not, at least they looked lol.
Hey, that’s so cool! 😀 Just a simple touch that, as you said, makes ordinary things a lot funnier!
Thanks for sharing it :]
Thanks for reading and commenting 🙂
Lol, that is so creative. Makes looking at signs more interesting. 😀
yeah, I’ve been keeping an eye out for more but unfortunately I haven’t seen any new ones.
